Semien Mountain
The Simien Mountains in northern Ethiopia are a spectacular UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for their dramatic Afroalpine landscape of jagged peaks (including Ethiopia’s highest, Ras Dejen), deep gorges, and sheer cliffs carved by erosion, rivaling the Grand Canyon. This unique terrain hosts rare endemic wildlife like the Walia ibex, Gelada baboon, and Ethiopian wolf, set amidst unique vegetation like giant lobelias, making it a prime destination for trekking and biodiversity conservation
